Douglass Mason Peck, Cushing resident, passed away on February 17, 2009 at the age of 27 years.

The son of Douglas Mason Peck and Linda Sue Brown Peck, Mason was born on September 4, 1981 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was raised in Las Vegas & Cushing, graduating from Durango High School in Las Vegas.

He was united in marriage to Stephanie Lynne Balmer on February 13, 2000 in Las Vegas. To this union two children, Douglas “Sonny” Mason and Abbigail Mackenzie, were born.

Mason served in the United States Army from September 1998 to July 2003.

He was a member of the Open Heart Ministries. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie, of the home; two children, Sonny and Abbie of the home; his parents, Doug and Linda Peck of Cushing; maternal grandparents, Bob and Wilma Brown of Okmulgee; paternal grandparents, Bob & Opal Peck of Three Rivers, MI; one sister, Carrie Dame and her husband Michael of Broken Arrow; two brothers, Grant Huddleston and his wife Shelly of Cushing and John Peck and his wife Kassie of Edmond; parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Balmer of Las Vegas, NV; and countless other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. in the First Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Glenn Holderread officiating.

Burial with honors will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 12:00 P.M. in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations for his children to be made to Douglass Mason Peck, C/O Glenn Holderread Open Heart Ministries, 5500 W. Grandstaff, Cushing OK 74023.
