Dollie Jewel Greenfield, age 85 of Chandler, died on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at her home in Chandler. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Church of the Firstborn in Chandler. Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland , Ok. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.
Dollie Jewel (Herring) Greenfield was born on April 25, 1925 near Chandler, Oklahoma to the late Everett and Myrtle (Moore) Herring. Jewel was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn in Parkland in 1942. Jewel married Virgil Greenfield on November 17, 1942 in Cushing, Ok. They moved to California after the war for a few years, moving back to the Chandler area in 1950. She was a beauty operator for fifteen years. Jewel attended Church of the Firstborn in Parkland, Agra and most recently in Chandler. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. Jewel made the best Chocolate Pie. She loved to spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Jewel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Joyce McIntire and husband Phil of Tulsa, son and daughter-in-law Chris Greenfield and wife Yuvonda of Davenport, two granddaughters LaKrissa Suthers and Kristyn Sires, four great grandchildren, brothers Junior Herring and wife Pat, George Herring all of Cushing, sisters Artie Curry and husband Lewis of Miller, Mo., Glenda Phipps of Mannford, and numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Joe Herring and daughter Melba Greenfield.
