Dewayne Friend Dimond, age 68 of Cushing, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Cushing Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Church of the Firstborn, Cushing. Interment will follow at the Tryon Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
Dewayne was born on February 20, 1940 in Manteka, California to the late George Earl and Nora Viola (Cecil) Dimond. He grew up in California and graduated from Wesley High School. Dewayne served in the United States Army. He married Margaret on September 28, 1959 in Corcoran, California. While in California, he worked on a dairy farm and also picked fruit. They moved to Arizona for a year then moved to Stillwater in 1971. Dewayne worked as a roofer. He was a member of the Church of the Firstborn. They moved to Cushing in 2004. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Dewayne is survived by his wife Margaret of the home, brother Milo Dimond of Deerpark, WA., sisters Juanita Edwards of Bakersfield, CA., Dollie Erlene Logsdon of Alva, Ok., Jacqueline Ray Bowling of Modesto, CA., nieces and nephews: Freddie Ray Poplin , Gerald Dan Cooksey, Michael Duane Cooksey, Carol Ray Cooksey, Loretta Loraine, Johnny Eugene Cooksey and many other relatives and friends.
Dewayne was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Roy Lloyd Dimond and Louis Rodney Dimond.
