A 186-foot long demethanizer (a purification system for natural gas) is being transported by Northwest Logistics Heavy Haul from Exterran in Broken Arrow to Fort Lupton, Colorado. The structure itself weighs 536,600 pounds and will be moved on a specially designed trailer pulled by two trucks in front and pushed by two trucks in back. The entire set-up will be 427 feet long and weigh over 1 million pounds.

Once leaving Broken Arrow, the object will pass through Bixby, Glenpool, Sapulpa, Mannford and Cushing before going around Enid and through Woodward. Liberal, Kansas will be the exit point for Oklahoma as it makes its way to a gas processing plant in Fort Lupton, Colorado. According to Johnny Mefferd, Northwest Logistics Operation Manager, the total move should take approximately 14 days, weather permitting.

Mr. Mefferd told KUSH that estimated travel through the Cushing area will be Sunday evening or Monday morning.  Traffic is not expected to be disrupted.
