(Stillwater) – A Payne County Judge has sentenced a Stillwater woman who operated a day care center to probation and restitution in the death of a 21 month old boy under her care.

Cathryn Patricia Hodson, 47, pleaded guilty to failing to provide adequate supervision.

Hodson was the owner and operator of the Hodson Day Care Home when Ricardo Joseph Salas died there on March 25th, 2006.

Hodson found the child lying in water in a bathtub and another 21-month-old boy was standing by the tub operating the faucet.

Hodson must also write a letter to the victim’s family and pay them $11,775 in restitution at the rate of $200 per month.

Hodson also can’t apply for a day-care license, must perform 780 hours of community service and must undergo counseling.
