(Cushing) – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Cushing woman was killed in a traffic accident on a Payne County road just before midnight Friday. 37 year old Elizabeth Ann Lewis was a passenger in an SUV that ran off the road. According to the Highway Patrol, the vehicle was driven by 41 year old Richard Raymond Robbins. Robbins told troopers that Lewis was slapping him while he was driving, and he slammed on the brakes and ran off the road, causing the SUV to roll.
Neither Lewis nor Robbins were wearing seat belts. According to the Highway Patrol, Robbins was driving under the influence of alcohol.
