(Stillwater) — A Cushing woman who is accused of exposing her genitals and breasts to a police officer was given a court-appointed attorney today to defend her on a felony charge of indecent exposure and a misdemeanor count of resisting an officer.
Angela Chauntay White, 48, was initially freed on $2,500 bond, but Special District Judge Phillip Corley revoked that bond and ordered her jailed on $20,000 bond Wednesday, court records show.
White could receive as much as a 10-year prison term and a $20,000 fine if convicted of indecent exposure to Cushing Police Officer Randy Evans at her residence in the 800 block of East Moses Street on June 6.
She could receive an additional one year in jail and a $500 fine if convicted of running from the officer and refusing to comply with his orders on June 6, according to the two-count charge filed by Payne County Assistant District Attorney Jill Tontz Thursday.
White has a history of misdemeanor arrests in Cushing, Yale and Perkins, court records show.
She is due to appear in court July 2 on charges of public intoxication on May 18 at a convenience store in Perkins, violating an emergency protective order on March 12 in Cushing, and public intoxication on March 4 in rural Yale, court records show.
She was convicted four months ago of disturbing the peace by yelling and arguing with a man in front of her house on Dec. 12, 2008, in Cushing, for which she was fined $100, court records show.
She was convicted three years ago of obstructing another Cushing police officer on March 15, 2006, by screaming obscenities at him, by refusing to remain in his presence during an investigation, by grabbing him by the arm as he was walking from her residence and by stepping directly in his path and delaying his exit.
She pleaded no contest to that misdemeanor and was placed on one year of probation with an order to attend the Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series (ACTS) in Cushing and perform five hours of community service, court records show.
