(Stillwater, Okla.) – A Cushing woman was charged Wednesday with embezzling $23,823 in Child Nutrition Fund payments during a five and one-half year period while she employed by the Cushing public school system.
Mary Susan Porter, 60, has not been arrested, but instead was mailed a letter from the Payne County District Attorney’s Office ordering her to voluntarily appear in court on Jan. 6.
If convicted of embezzling the money between August 2008 and February 2014 that was received for the use of the Cushing public school system, Porter could be imprisoned for five years, fined $5,000, ordered to pay restitution, and also required to pay an amount equal to 10 percent of any court-ordered restitution for deposit to the School Investigative Audit Revolving Fund.
