(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Cushing woman and man have been charged together with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute on March 4 in the 1700 block of E. Main Street, in a case investigated by Payne County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Myers.
Savannah Colette Hilbert, 26, who is currently on probation on three prior convictions for the same drug offense, apparently has not yet been arrested on her latest felony charge, which was filed last week.
She is not in custody, a Payne County jail spokesman told KUSH Monday.
In December 2008, she was convicted of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute once in 2004 and twice in 2008, court records show.
She was ordered to serve 120 days in the Payne County Jail, to be transported to inpatient treatment when a bed was available for her, and then to serve 15 years of probation, court records show.
Because of her criminal record, Hilbert could be imprisoned for six years to life and fined $100,000 if convicted of her latest drug charge, court records show.
Her co-defendant, James Gavin Baker, 21, of Cushing, was arraigned last week without an attorney and ordered to return to court Tuesday with an attorney. He remains free on $5,000 bond, court records show.
In their felony case filed last week, Baker and Hilbert are also charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of a straw with methamphetamine residue, which is punishable by as much as a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Two years ago, Baker pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in rural Cushing, for which he was placed on probation for one year.
However, after he failed to appear in court to show that he had made court cost payments, Baker was ordered to appear in court Tuesday in that 2008 case, records show.
If convicted of his felony charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Baker could be imprisoned for two years to life and fined $20,000, court records show.
