(Cushing, Okla.) This past school year the Cushing Upper Elementary entered a contest to win either a visit from the author/illustrator Jan Brett, ten autographed library books, or a signed poster. This was the 2nd year for the CUE to participate.
The school with the most votes throughout the entire United States wins a visit from the author. The top 10 schools win ten books and those schools placing 11th through 100th receive a signed poster.
The first year CUE entered, the school won a signed poster that now hangs in the library. This time, the CUE landed in 9th place and received 10 Jan Brett books for its library!
The CUE would like to thank the many wonderful parents for putting out flyers, contacting businesses, and posting on social media to spread the word, as well as the Cushing Citizen and KUSH radio for their support and coverage.
