(Stillwater, Okla.) – Two male middle-aged ex-convicts and a young woman were jailed on drug charges after a search warrant was served at their residence in the 1500 block of E. Moses Street in Cushing by an eight-person team from the Cushing Police Department, Payne County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, court records showed today.

James Allen Twoguns, 56, who was being held on $20,000 bail, appeared before Special District Judge Katherine Thomas this morning through his court-appointed attorney Virginia Banks. His case was reset for this afternoon to see if he was still hospitalized, court records show.

Twoguns was charged with possession of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of Cushing High School and possession of drug paraphernalia, both on June 26, court records show.

Twoguns had been paroled from state prison in 2001 after serving about three years of a 10-year sentence for drunk driving in Payne County in 1997, state Department of Corrections records show. Twoguns had previously been given a five-year probationary sentence for drunk driving in Payne County in 1991, DOC records show.

About five years after his release from prison, Twoguns received a five-year probationary sentence for assault and battery on a Cushing police officer in 2006, DOC records show.

Two others were arrested with Twoguns on June 26 at the house — ex-convict Jason Patrick Pershall, 44, and a 22-year-old woman, Stormy Ione Christopher, court records show. They were charged together with possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of Cushing High School and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show.

Pershall had been paroled from state prison in October 2013, after serving about half of a jury-recommended 15-year sentence for methamphetamine trafficking in Yale in 2004 and possessing the drug without a tax stamp, DOC records show.

Pershall also served about half of a concurrent 15-year sentence for methamphetamine possession and having the drug without a tax stamp in Payne County in 2005. Pershall had been given both of those drug sentences in 2006, court records show.

Pershall was being held today in the Payne County Jail on $10,000 bail after his $25,000 bail was reduced by Special District Judge Robert Hert on July 1, court records show. Christopher was being held today in the Payne County Jail on $2,000 bail, court records show.

The trio were arrested at 7:19 a.m. on June 26 after a team of officers served a narcotics search warrant at their residence, Cushing Police Officer Aaron Sherman wrote in an affidavit filed last week.

Twoguns was located in the west central bedroom where at 6:10 am. a Cushing officer saw what appeared to be a used syringe needle on the headboard of the bed, Sherman’s affidavit alleged.

An hour later, the officer found another loose syringe needle that appeared to be used lying on the headboard of the bed, the affidavit alleged.

“I also located a cloth green baggy on the headboard by the syringe. Inside the baggy were two more syringe needles that appeared to be used,” Sherman alleged in his affidavit.

Next to that baggy, the officer found a pill bottle containing six small baggies with a white crystal substance, the affidavit alleged.

Pershall and Christopher were located in the northwest bedroom where at 6:15 a.m. the Cushing officer saw a marijuana leaf inside a picture frame on the wall, the affidavit alleged. At 7:59 a.m., the officer located Pershall’s tobacco pipe containing marijuana residue, the affidavit alleged.

“The residence is located 618 feet west of the Cushing High School,” the Cushing officer noted in his affidavit.
