(Cushing, Okla.)  The City of Cushing and the Cushing Fire Department invites citizens to participate in a “push back” ceremony, Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Cushing Public Safety Center located at 211 W. Main, Cushing. The ceremony is to commemorate the new ladder truck for service.

Cushing voters overwhelmingly approved the purchase of a new ladder truck in February, 2015.  The purchase of the 2007, Smeal 105 foot quint ladder truck was approved by the Cushing Board of Commissioners in July, 2015 at a purchase price of $400,000.00.  Since its purchase, it has been outfitted and is now completely ready to be put into service.  Cushing fire fighters have received training on the truck, as well as the City mechanic.

According to Fire Chief Chris Pixler, the truck will be used for fires and/or rescue scenarios in multi-story buildings, as well as ressidential structure fires.

The City of Cushing and the Cushing Fire Department expresses their gratitude to the citizens of Cushing for their continued support and invites everyone to come and take part in this event.
