(Stillwater) — A Cushing teenager has admitted raping a 12-year-old girl and inducing a 13-year-old girl to perform a lewd act on him in separate incidents in March in Cushing.
Nathan Dale Scott, 16, pleaded guilty Monday to both charges after waiving his right to preliminary hearings in both cases, court records show.
Scott also was a suspect in a Cushing sexual assault investigation in November involving a 15-year-old girl with behavioral problems, court documents said.
Scott remains held on $50,000 bail in a juvenile detention center pending his sentencing on May 4 by Payne County Associate District Judge Stephen Kistler.
Kistler has ordered the Office of Juvenile Affairs to prepare a pre-sentencing investigation on Scott, who turns 17 in May, court records show.
Scott was charged as a youthful offender with second-degree rape of a 12-year-old Cushing girl on March 12 and lewd proposal/acts toward a 13-year-old Cushing girl on March 16.
Under a new law that went into effect last June, Scott could be placed in OJA custody until he is 18 years and five months, at which time he would appear before a judge who would decide whether he should be sent to an adult prison, given probation or released from custody.
Scott was arrested on March 17 five hours after Cushing Police Officer Justin Sappington was sent to Cushing Regional Hospital regarding a 12-year-old rape victim, court records show.
The next day, the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl by Scott came to light, court records show.
