(Stillwater) — A Cushing teenager who admitted raping a 12-year-old girl and inducing a 13-year-old girl to perform a lewd act on him in separate incidents in Cushing was committed Monday to the custody of the Office of Juvenile Affairs.
Nathan Dale Scott, 17, will continue to be held in a juvenile detention center pending his placement by OJA, Payne County Associate District Judge Stephen Kistler ordered Monday. The judge scheduled a Nov. 16 review of Scott’s case.
Scott, who has been in custody for two months, pleaded guilty in April as a youthful offender to second-degree rape of a 12-year old Cushing girl on March 12 and lewd proposal/acts toward a 13-year-old Cushing girl on March 16, court records show.
Scott was also a suspect in a Cushing sexual assault investigation in November involving a 15-year-old girl with behavioral problems, court documents said.
Scott was arrested on March 17, five hours after Cushing Police Officer Justin Sappington was sent to Cushing Regional Hospital regarding a 12-year-old rape victim, court records show.
The next day, the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl by Scott came to light, court records show.
Under a new law that went into effect last June, Scott could remain in OJA custody until he is 18 years and five months, at which time he would appear before a judge who would decide whether he should be sent to an adult prison, given probation or released from custody.
