The Cushing Public Library is offering up two summer reading programs this year. As of June 1st, not only are children in grades 1 – 6 invited to register for the reading program, but this year teens are invited as well.
Area teen are invited to “Express Yourself @ Your Library” this summer by participating in the Cushing Public Library’s teen summer reading program from June 1 through June 27. Teens are invited to come to the library and read for prizes as well as to take part in special events offered throughout the month.
Special events this summer will include painting with bubble wrap, a balloon twisting workshop and a Murder Mystery. Beginning June 1, teen in grades 7 – 12 can register to attend these free events at the Circulation desk at the Cushing Public Library. Teens can also sign up to read 10 hours between June 1 and June 26. Those who succeed will receive a reading certificate and their names will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize.
As for children in grades 1 – 6, they are invited to “Be Creative @ Your Library” and explore the worlds of music, dance, art, books and more.
Registration begins June 1. Children can sign up to read 15 books and those who succeed will win a prize. Children can also register to attend special events throughout the month including Monty Harper’s Wacky Witty Way-Out Performance, ribbon dancing and sidewalk art. All programs are free of charge.
