(Stillwater, Okla.) – A Cushing prison visitor has been ordered to report to the Payne County Sheriff by 4 p.m. Thursday to begin serving a 60-day jail term for bringing an inmate in the Cimarron Correctional Facility a package containing marijuana and several “SIM” cards for electronic devices, which she hid in her body.

After serving her jail term, Kimyetta Nichole Hawkins, 34, of Oklahoma City, who pleaded guilty to bringing contraband into the Cushing prison, will be on probation for four years and 10 months under a plea bargain approved by District Judge Phillip Corley last week, court records show.

On her release, Hawkins must begin paying the cost of her incarceration, as well as $1,250 in other assessments, have a substance abuse evaluation, follow its recommendations, undergo random drug testing, and perform 50 hours of community service.

Cushing Police Officer Jerrod Livergood wrote in an affidavit that he was sent on Nov. 2, 2014, to the prison about a visitor bringing in a package given to an inmate who is serving a five-year prison sentence for bringing contraband into a penal institution in Hughes County in 2012, according to state Department of Corrections records.

An official at the Cushing prison said that when he opened a package taped with black electrical tape, he found a clear baggy containing a green leafy substance and a clear baggy “containing four ScanDisk 8 GB micro cards and six AT&T GO SIM cards,” the affidavit said.

A guard said that he saw a condom on the floor in the visitation room next to an inmate, who had a small package with black electrical tape between the inmate’s buttocks, the affidavit said.

When the visitor was questioned, Hawkins said she was asked by a man named Tommy to bring a package into the prison to the inmate, the affidavit said.

“Hawkins said she was given a package that was wrapped with black electrical tape and inside a condom. Hawkins said she was going to get paid money to bring it in, although she did not know how much.

“Hawkins said she inserted the package into her ‘privacy part’ in the front and brought it into the prison,” the affidavit said.

Hawkins said she removed it and gave it to the inmate in the visitation area, the affidavit said.

“Hawkins said when he (the inmate) tried to remove it from the condom, the condom fell on the floor gaining the guard’s attention,” the affidavit said.

At 12:01 p.m. on Nov. 2, 2014, Hawkins was arrested for bringing drugs into a penal institution and released on $5,000 bond the next day, court records show.

Hawkins had been placed on five years’ probation in 1999 for second-degree forgery in Oklahoma County, court records show.
