(Cushing, Okla.)  On January 19, 2014 at about 2242 hours (10:42 p.m.) Cushing Police responded to an armed robbery call that had just occurred at the Steer Inn Family Restaurant, 1340 E. Main Street.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a store employee, who had been assaulted during the incident. Due to the sustained injuries, the employee was transported to Hillcrest Hospital and was later transported via AirEvac to Tulsa.

During the investigations, Officers were able to determine from the restaurant surveillance video that while locking up for the night the female employee was attacked from behind by an armed assailant. The assailant took two money bags from the employee prior to fleeing the scene. The assailant is described as a male subject that was wearing blue jeans, and a dark colored hoodie. (Photo of the suspect will be posted as soon as one is available)  Cushing Police Chief Tully Folden told KUSH, “We are working diligently to identify and apprehend the suspect.”

Cushing Police and members of the Payne County Sheriff’s Department canvassed the area following the incident and will continue too, following daybreak this morning. Crime stoppers of Cushing are offering a $2000.00 reward for the identification and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the robbery.
