(Cushing, Okla.) In May Cushing police asked for the public’s help trying to identify a pickup involved in gasoline thefts from Bill’s E-Z Out and Maveric Mini-Mart stores.
This afternoon, Cushing police Detective Adam Harp was able to interview Depew resident Rieley Foutch, WM, 19, in connection with the May thefts at the Stroud Jail. Foutch admitted his involvement in the gasoline thefts from both stores, in addition to stores in Drumright. The vehicle used in the thefts was connected to Foutch.
“I want to thank the Stroud Police Department for their help in our investigation,” said Deputy Chief Tully Folden. “Our leads had grown cold, but Detective Harp continued to network with other law enforcement agencies in our area, which resulted in Foutch being identified,” he said. “Some may think gasoline theft is not a significant crime worthy of our time, but it is those businesses that are victimized that reinvest in our community, which support our good quality of life, so it is important to us,” said Folden.
A formal case will be presented to the Payne County D.A. against Foutch.
