(Cushing, Okla.) According to Cushing Police, an email is being circulated about former Cushing pastor Ted Uhlig in order to solicate funds. Recipients are urged to disregard the email and contact the police department at (918) 225-1212 if they have given money or other resources because of the bogus email.
Some Cushing residents received an email this morning (Friday, July 16, 2010) from someone claiming to be former First United Methodist pastor Ted Uhlig. The email said Pastor Uhlig was in London for a brief vacation when his family was mugged in a park, which resulted in his money, credit cards, etc., being taken. THIS IS NOT TRUE!
Cushing police spoke with Pastor Ted Uhlig by telephone Friday morning and confirmed that he and his family are fine and that this email is BOGUS.
Anyone who may be contacted by an outside source requesting money or other assistance on behalf of Pastor Uhlig or his family IS NOT ACTING IN THEIR INTEREST. Again, anyone who may have given money or other resources are urged to contact the Cushing police at (918) 225-1212.
