(Cushing, Okla.) This morning, Wednesday, June 23, Cushing police are still investigating a daytime residential burglary that occurred in the 800 blk E. Broadway Street. Some unknown person forced entry into a residence and took personal property belonging to the victims.

A canvass of the neighborhood by Detective Adam Harp and Officer Dakotah Simpson has yielded few leads. Police need your help to solve this crime. If you live in or around the 800 blk E. Broadway Street, and noticed any one suspicious in the area whether a vehicle or person, but did not report it, between Monday and this morning (Wednesday), please contact the police department.

“Daytime burglaries do not occur often in Cushing,” Chief Terry Brannon said. “We can become complacent and think that crimes like burglary only occur during the night time so it is important to remember that crime can occur anytime,” Brannon said.

Police are stressing that neighbors need to be good neighbors by reporting any suspicious activity in their neighborhood whether day or night. Being a good neighbor means using your eyes and ears to deter a potential crime from occurring by calling police.
