(Cushing, Okla.)  Friday afternoon, Cushing police Chief Terry Brannon and MPO Randy Evans were joined by Vince and Larry, the world famous crash dummies, at Harmony Elementary School as they celebrated Fitness Friday, closing out the month after learning about seat belt safety. Also joining Cushing police was Trooper Antonio Porter, a member of the Oklahoma Patrol Highway Patrol Troop B detachment in Tulsa and liaison for the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office. Cushing police were invited to the school by Harmony educator Melanie Berlowitz.

Playing the part of the crash dummies was local businessman and Harmony parent Randy Robnett and Matthew Piatt II, a student at Cushing High School and son of Cushing police officer Matthew Piatt.

“We believe in supporting our local schools and connecting with the kids,” Chief Terry Brannon said. “I really appreciate Randy, Matthew and Trooper Porter for taking their time to come out and support our efforts,” Brannon said. “It is my hope that our interaction today will make a difference for at least one student if ever involved in an accident.”
