(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Cushing man who had been in the Payne County Jail for two months was released Monday after pleading guilty to embezzling a rented two-dolly trailer from a Cushing business last year and failing to return it.

Jason Alan Hill, 34, was ordered to pay restitution estimated to be $2,000, maintain full-time employment, take cognitive behavior training and perform 100 hours of community service within one year.

As part of a plea bargain for a three-year deferred sentence Monday, Hill was also ordered by District Judge Donald Worthington to contribute $250 to the victims’ compensation fund.

Hill admitted in court Monday that he had rented a two-dolly trailer from B & G Storage and Store in Cushing on April 25, 2009, with the understanding that the trailer would be returned the next day, but instead converted it to his own use.

Hill also pleaded guilty Monday to possessing marijuana and driving with a suspended license in Stillwater on May 28, 2005, for which he was placed on probation for one year and ordered to have a drug and alcohol evaluation as well as follow any recommendations.
