(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Cushing man accused of choking his girlfriend and punching her in the face has been jailed on $5,000 bail pending his arraignment on June 30 on a two-count domestic violence charge punishable by as much as four years of incarceration and $8,000 in fines on conviction.
Today, the victim obtained an emergency protective order against Anthony Michael Hadlock, 31, court records show.
The woman said that during the attack, “Hadlock told her he was going to take her out into the country and kill her,” Cushing Police Officer Kurt McKean alleged in an affidavit.
She said at about 10 p.m. on Friday, “Hadlock accused her of cheating on him while at their residence,” the affidavit alleged.
She said when she denied the allegations, “Hadlock became more angry with her and began accusing her of lying,” the affidavit alleged.
She said Hadlock “attacked her and slammed her into the ground with his hands around her neck and he began to choke her,” the affidavit alleged.
She said “she was able to begin to crawl away from Hadlock, but when she did so, he began to strike her in the face with a closed fist and attempted to further hold her on the ground,” the affidavit alleged.
She said “Hadlock then stole her phone and her vaping device and she subsequently left the residence to stay with her mother during the evening,” the affidavit alleged.
The next morning at 10:35 a.m. on Saturday, she went to the Cushing police station and reported the attack, the affidavit alleged. Her mother was with her in the interview room, the affidavit said.
She said “she believed Hadlock was going to kill her during the attack, and she stated she believes she almost lost consciousness from his strikes,” the affidavit alleged.
She said “her head hurt and she was still dizzy from the incident,” the previous night, the affidavit alleged.
“Her visible injuries included bruising in both the right and left eye area, bruising in her right neck area where her neck met her chin, which appeared to have the contour and outlining of what appeared to resemble finger marks, and bruising on her forearm,” the Cushing officer wrote in his affidavit.
Hadlock was arrested on Sunday at 1 p.m., according to the affidavit.
