(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
A personal injury collision occurred December 21st (2018) at approximately 01:01 am on SH18 about 3/10 of a mile north of 44th Street, approximately 5.3 miles north of Cushing, in Payne County.
Kevin Odell Pierce (33) of Cushing was driving a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on SH18, when he swerved to avoid a deer and became separated from the motorcycle and impacted the ground.
Pierce was transported by AirEvac to St. Johns (Tulsa) with his injuries.
According to the DPS report the collision was caused by an animal being in the roadway.
