(Stillwater, Okla.) —  A Cushing man — who is on probation for intentionally damaging a car in 2011 — was charged today with stealing a Cushing man’s 1980 Yamaha motorcycle on Saturday.

Will Kalen Smith, 20, remains in the Payne County Jail on $7,500 bail on the felony charge, which carries as much as a 20-year prison term and a fine equal to three times the value of the stolen property, on conviction.

Two years ago, Smith admitted that he kicked a 1994 Nissan Altima in the 300 block of E. Oak Street in Cushing on Oct. 20, 2011 — causing damage to the driver’s side door, court records show.

For that misdemeanor, Smith was initially placed on probation under a one-year deferred sentence with an order to make restitution, take an anger resolution class, pay a $100 fine and perform 15 hours of community service.

Last June, Smith admitted he had violated the terms of his probation and was given a conviction for injuring a motor vehicle, court records show.

Last Wednesday, prosecutor Tyson Branyan filed an application against Smith for a citation for indirect contempt of court for failure to pay supervision fees, court costs and $1,224.86 in restitution, court records show.
