(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Cushing man accused of repeatedly attempting to stab an unnamed victim through a bathroom door with a large kitchen knife on April 30 has been released on $10,000 bond pending a June 6 court appearance.
Kevin Ogle, 47, could be given a 10-year prison term if convicted of assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the felony charge filed Friday by prosecutor Lynn Hermanson.
No other details were immediately available about the alleged attack. Neither Cushing Police Chief Tully Folden nor Cushing Deputy Police Chief Chuck Claxton could be reached by KUSH this morning for additional information.
Two years ago, Ogle was charged with pointing a loaded 9 mm Taurus handgun at Cushing Police Officer Carson Watts on Feb. 23, 2012.
That felony charge was reduced three months later to a misdemeanor charge of reckless handling of a firearm for which Ogle was given a six-month probationary sentence except for 45 days in jail, which he had already served.
Ogle was also ordered to pay his incarceration fees and take a firearm safety course, court records show.
