(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Cushing man — on probation for possessing marijuana in 2013 and leaving the scene of an injury accident in 2012 — has been charged in Payne County with domestic violence as a second offense.
Jason Daniel Lacy, 39, was released on $7,500 bond last week with an order to have no contact with his alleged victim and to appear in court on July 9 on the felony charge, court records show.
Lacy had been arrested by Cushing Police Officer Bill McCarty at 12:43 p.m. on June 6 in the 200 block of N. Highland — where Lacy’s girlfriend was running down an alley, according to an affidavit.
Lacy’s girlfriend was visibly injured and had an injury to her left cheek, the affidavit said.
She said she found a sexual message on Lacy’s phone, confronted him and they began to argue, McCarty wrote in an affidavit.
She said “Jason pushed her and she grabbed her son’s nunchucks to protect herself,” before a woman came in and told her to run, the affidavit alleged.
She said as she was running, Lacy tackled her and the woman got him off of her so she ran to a man’s house, the affidavit alleged.
The woman said that as Lacy’s girlfriend was running, Lacy tackled and hit her before picking up the nunchucks and yelling at his girlfriend that he was going to kill her, the affidavit alleged.
McCarty then arrested Lacy, whom he had left at the scene with another Cushing police officer, the affidavit said.
In 2010, Lacy had been placed on one year’s probation, with a two-day jail term, plus 12 weeks of counseling for domestic violence in 2009, court records show.
Eight months ago, Lacy had been placed on five and one-half years’ probation for a 2012 hit and run rear-end collision in the 900 block of E. Main Street in Cushing in which a Cushing man received a head injury requiring seven staples to his scalp, court records show.
In that case, Lacy was required to serve 180 days in jail and to pay a $150 fine, court records show. The restitution was to be decided in a civil case.
Eight months ago, Lacy was also placed on six and one-half years’ probation, with 180 days in jail, for possessing marijuana on June 5, 2013, in Cushing, court records show.
He was given two concurrent 180-day jail terms for possessing drug paraphernalia and refusing to comply with an officer’s command to place his hands behind his back.
Eight months ago, Lacy was also given a 30-day jail term for shoplifting a $12 bottle of wine from a liquor store in Cushing on June 27, 2012, court records show.
In 2006, Lacy was placed on two concurrent terms of five years’ probation for possessing methamphetamine and marijuana in Cushing, as well as falsely personating another in Cushing.
Lacy was also ordered to have substance abuse counseling and full-time employment, along with performing 100 hours of community service and attending a victim impact panel, as well as paying $1,400 in fines and assessments, court records show.
In 2006, Lacy was also placed on two years’ probation for attempting to elude a police officer in Cushing in 2005, court records show.
