Joshua Porter is IT.  Internet Technologist, that is.  This home-schooled 18 year old knows his stuff when it comes to computers.  As a project for the Twin Mounds 4-H, Joshua gave a very interesting slideshow presentation to the Cushing Lions Club about what to do to avoid computer WORMS, viruses, Trojan Horses and Phishing.

At their regular meeting on Tuesday, the local Lions had many questions – and Joshua knew the answers, including finding free AVG security software and to steer clear of illegal LimeWire/FrostWire. Giving examples of internet phishing, Porter described how to tell the difference between a legitimate email and a phishing email.

A talented homeschool student, Joshua is already attending college classes, majoring in – what else? – Internet Technology!

Next week’s Cushing Lion’s Club program will be Senator Jim Halligan at the regular noon Tuesday meeting.
