Cushing Lion’s Club learned of the local American Legion Post 108’s anticipated WALK OF HONOR fundraiser happening now to honor area veterans. Memorial bricks with past and present veterans of all branches of the US Armed Forces will be placed in the WALK OF HONOR at the historic legion hut in Cushing.
Legion representatives Carey Seigle, Ferrell Kleckler and Bobby Bryant, explained all that their membership accomplishes in service to the community and individuals during the year. This personalized Walk of Honor project will not only be a memorial to our Veterans, but will be a fundraising endeavor that will allow Post 108 to continue its ongoing service to the community and fellow Veterans.
Each brick can have up to 3 lines and up to 15 characters per line, including spaces and punctuation. Bricks are 4 x 8″ in size. Forms to order the bricks for $50 each are available by calling Carey Seigle at 918-223-6582 or ask any American Legion Post 108 member.
Funds deposited for the project will not be spent until the necessary funds needed for the project are collected. If sales do not reach the anticipated cost of $10,000. by 1 June 2010, all funds will be returned to purchasers. Project installation wil be completed on or before 11 November 2010, VETERANS DAY.
