(Cushing, Okla) Jim Pickard New President of the local Lions Club International called his meeting to order today.

 

 

The agenda started with song & pledge by Lion Jerry Snider. This was followed by prayer requests for: Neta Blake, Stewart Arthurs, Bob Abshier, and Susan. The Prayer was given by Larry Haney of First Christian Church here in Cushing.

 

Lions Club then introduced guests: Stillwater Noon Lions Club, 2nd Vice District Governor Troy Jenkins.

 

Marian Gilkerson Director of Cushing Regional Hospital Foundation gave correspondence Thanking the Lions Club for support and donations to the Charity Golf Tournament. (The Charity Golf event raised $9,000)

 

A final work spot at the Rodeo is still needing to be filled. Any Lion interested should contact Jim Pickard to get on the list.

 

Lion and President Jim Pickard had a short discussion with the club about board meeting, committees and the responsibilities of each committee. As well as the duties of each of the Vice Presidents (3).

A district 3-H cabinet meeting is scheduled for July 26 (2014).

 

In other business: A Presentation of Lion Hal Hughes, Lion’s vest to Lee Denny, by Lou Griffin & Jerry Snider followed by an update on the Oil Patch Festival by Lion Mary Kelly.

 

The meeting finished up with a Presentation of Attendance Awards by Kateri Holbert. Holbert also discussed starting a Leo Club. Leo Club objectives are: To provide the youth of the world with an opportunity for development and contribution, individually and collectively, as responsible members of the local, national and international community.

 

Cushing Lions Club meets each Tuesday at noon in the Lions Den in downtown Cushing.
