(Cushing, Okla.) CHS Lady Tiger Basketball Coach Brad Crace was excited to announce the Cushing Lady Tigers have been invited to participate in the prestigious Tournament of Champions in Tulsa in December 2012. Crace told Cushing Rotarians they were the first to know – after school officials.
Crace reported when he received a call from Tommy Thompson, he thought it might be a friend playing a trick. “I thought, ‘Is this a joke?"”
The invitation is a first for the CHS Lady Tigers, who have proven themselves to be a force to be reckoned with on the court this year. Crace attributed the chemistry between players, along with a lot of hard work, as the reason behind this year’s success. As of Thursday, Jan. 12th, the Lady Tigers had a 11 – 1 record.
“This year the girls see CUSHING instead of numbers,” Crace said. “They are working as a team.”
Crace said he had to decline an invitation to the Mid-America Tournament to accept the invitation to the Tulsa tournament.
Crace was the guest speaker of Rotarian of the Day Jason Kinzie at Thursday’s Rotary Club meeting.
