(Stillwater, Okla.) — An inmate at the Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing — who has been in prison since 2002 — has been charged with squirting urine on the arms and hands of a guard.

Shannon Dewayne Monk, 43, is currently serving a 10-year sentence for assault with intent to commit a felony in Tulsa County, state Department of Corrections records show.

When he completes that sentence in 2012, Monk is slated to begin serving a two-year prison term for possession of contraband in a penal institution earlier this year in Alfalfa County.

After that, Monk is due to serve a three-year prison term on another count of possession of contraband in a penal institution this year in Alfalfa County.

Monk previously served about one year in prison for escape in Tulsa County in 1996, DOC records show.

Monk also served about three years of a six-year sentence for second-degree burglary in Tulsa County in 1995, DOC records show.

If convicted of throwing human waste on a correctional officer at the Cushing prison on Nov. 19, Monk could be incarcerated for an additional two years, according to the charge filed last week.
