Members of Cushing’s Geographic Club came to City Hall Monday to present a check to the City of Cushing earmarked for the proposed sakte. park.
The $5,000 check will go a long way toward making the skate park a reality. Spokesperson for the club, Sharon Kerr, said that last year they pledged $10,000 to supply shade on the softball field – “we’re working on that,” Kerr said, as well as donating $2500 toward the paramedic program and an additional $2500 to the CRH Foundation.
The largest fundraiser is typically the Run for the Mums held each year during Festival in the Park.
Other club members attending were Kelly Dilley and Ruth Ann Johnson.
