(Cushing, Okla.) The first community prayer vigil for Cushing held on Sunday, September 27, 2015 was deemed a success.
Approximately 30-50 people gathered at the Cushing Public Safety Center to hold a prayer vigil for Cushing’s police department, fire department, emergency management and the City of Cushing.
After meeting at the Safety Center, groups gathered at entrances to the city located at the Pipeline Crossroads on North Highway 18 and West Highway 33, East Highway 33 at the Elks Lodge, 9th and Linwood, Airport Drive and 9th and Kings Highway. A small group of individuals also went to the prison to pray for the officers and employees.
Organizer Paula Porter states she was happy with the turnout and another prayer vigil will be organized at some point.
