Cushing bank customers are receiving bogus text messages requesting account information.
This morning, staff at the Bank of Cushing called Cushing police after some of the banks customers reported receiving text messages regarding restrictions on their bank account. Staff at the Bank of Cushing have told police this morning that the text messages being received by some of its customers are bogus. Anyone receiving a text message on behalf of the Bank of Cushing is encouraged not to reply with any information about his or her account.
Bank of Cushing representative Betty Rush, said, “The Bank of Cushing does not communicate with customers using text messaging services. If any of our customers receive a text message, they should not give out their account information. In the event you have gotten a text message and given out your account information, please call the bank immediately.”
Any Bank of Cushing customer receiving a text message about their account should contact the bank immediately at 918-225-2010. Remember giving out your bank account information to an unknown source should never be an option.
Cushing police are working this morning in an attempt to identify the origin of the text messages. If you are a Bank of Cushing customer and think you may be a fraud victim please call police at 918-225-1212 in addition to notifying the bank.
