(Cushing, Okla.) Cushing Regional Hospital (CRH) Rehabiliative Services recently held an Open House to demonstrate new equipment donated by the CRH Foundation.
The new additions to the department included elliptical equipment, a commercial grade treadmill, a Bio-dex recumbent elliptical, a combination bike and upper body machine and the Total Gym – a total body work out made famous by TV star Chuck Norris. Other new items include a weight rack and a Universal 4-station gym. “We will get that set up once we have room,” department head Jeanne Loveland-Wheeler said.
The need for outpatient occupational therapy may arise due to a traumatic or repetitive injury, an orthopedic or neurological disorder, or a chronic or congenital illness. Therapists treat those with a wide range of conditions, including: sports or work-related injuries, arthritis, post-surgical rehab, total joint replacement, fractures or sprains, shoulder pain, etc. as well as neurological conditions such as acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, stroke, or conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Muscular Dystrophy or Cerebral Palsy.
