Each year, Enbridge Energy Corporation donates $10,000 to CRH Foundation to purchase needed equipment for the Hospital.  It seems like Christmas as employees decide on what is the most needed to improve patient care.

This year, the employees decided to purchase SpectraLink phones to be used on patient floors.  Each doctor has a phone, each nurse carries a phone in their pocket, other patient care staff carry one and most importantly, the patient has one in his/her room.  If the patient is in need of care, they call “their” nurse.  Their nurse can immediately respond to their needs.  While caring for the patient, the nurse can call on his/her phone if more help is needed.  The nurse is also available to call the patient’s doctor.  Patient care can begin at a faster rate as well as be more efficient rate.  The phones also help in Patient Satisfaction Scores of keeping the Hospital quiet for patients to rest.

Foundation board members felt that this truly was a tool that can improve patient care.  They made the motion to purchase one additional set of phones in order to have them in patient care areas.
