STILLWATER — A Creek County woman, who was initially arrested in Cushing, has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine and bringing the drug into the Payne County Jail in a case investigated by Stillwater Police Detective Newly McSpadden.
Due to her extensive criminal record, Brandi Rachelle Inman, 47, of Depew, could be given two life prison terms if convicted of the two-count felony charge filed last week. She remains jailed on $40,000 bond pending a court appearance on Wednesday with an attorney.
The Stillwater police detective alleged in affidavit that on April 15, he was contacted by Cushing K9 Officer David Smith, who “told me he arrested Inman for possession of methamphetamine, and she was going to be transported to the Payne County Jail.
“Smith told me he had made a traffic stop and when he had Inman exit the vehicle, he observed approximately seven grams of methamphetamine on her seat as soon as she got up. Smith explained Inman was wishing to speak with officers in reference to being cooperative with law enforcement.
“On April 16, Smith called me and stated Inman was taken to the Payne County Jail on this morning and during the booking process she was found to have additional narcotics on her,” during a body scan that she retrieved from inside her and gave to a detention officer.
“There was a clear zip lock baggy containing two additional baggies. Inside one baggy was a crystal-like substance weighing 2.5 grams. The other baggy contained a crystal-like substance containing 10.7 grams.
“On April 16, Detective Carson and I went to interview Inman at the Payne County Jail. Inman stated she used to traffic a large amount of methamphetamine, but she no longer does. Inman stated she had bought 14 grams. When we asked why she didn’t tell officers about the additional narcotics inside her, she stated she was scared she would get additional charges.
“Approximately 30 minutes after releasing Inman to detention officers, I was informed Inman was found to have possessed additional narcotics in the jail. I learned that when she was brought back into the jail, she went back to the body scanner. But before she got on the scanner, she had removed an item from her bra and had it in her hand,” which was an additional zip lock baggy containing a large crystal-like substance that weighed 20.5 grams.
“The total weight of methamphetamine Brandi Inman brought into the Payne County Jail was 33.7 grams,” the affidavit alleged.
According to the state Department of Corrections and court records, a year ago Inman had been convicted of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute and unauthorized use of a vehicle in Pawnee County, for which she was placed on three years and two years of probation to serve concurrently beginning on Aug. 1, 2025.
In Lincoln County, Inman had been placed on 10 years of probation in 2015 for child neglect, drug possession and being a felon in possession of a firearm. In Payne County, Inman had been given a three-year prison term followed by five years of probation for possession of a substance to manufacture methamphetamine in 2012.
In Creek County, Inman had been given a five-year prison term in 2016 for drug possession, and three years of probation in 2010 for drunk driving, DOC records show.
