(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Creek County teenager was charged Monday with being a convicted felon in possession of a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol on Friday in Payne County.

Keoni Noah Barnett, 19, of Bristow, was jailed on $25,000 bail pending his arraignment before a Payne County judge this afternoon, court records show.

At the time of his arrest by the Payne County Sheriff’s Office, Barnett was being sought for failing to appear before a Creek County judge on Dec. 13, 2019, for a batterers’ course review.

When he was 18, Barnett was charged in Creek County with feloniously pointing a firearm and domestic violence in Bristow and jailed on $40,000 bail on June 25, 2019.

Six weeks later, Barnett pleaded guilty to both charges for which he was placed on five years’ probation on the gun count, with a concurrent one year’s probation on the domestic abuse count, court records show.

But a bench warrant was issued for his arrest four months later when he failed to appear in court for a review of the status of his batterers’ course, court records show.

If convicted of his new Payne County charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a gun, Barnett could be imprisoned for one to 10 years and fined $10,000, court records show.
