(Cushing) – Cushing Police Department reservist Berl Stinson recently accepted the position of Animal Control Officer. According to Stinson, the position appealed to him because it offered him the opportunity to help the community and encourage Cushing citizens to be responsible pet owners.

Stinson grew up in Perkins but has been a Cushing resident for the past seven years. He and his wife Kimberly made the decision to move to Cushing after living in Edmond for a time.

“We were tired of the big city life,” Stinson said, “We wanted to raise our children in a small town atmosphere – and we liked Cushing.”

The couple has two children: Larry, 16 and Emily, 12.
