Courtney Marie Marcum, a lifelong Cushing resident and a Junior at Cushing High School, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 3, 2009 following a tragic car accident at the age of 17 years.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday in the Cushing High School Auditorium, Cushing, OK with Reverend Mike Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Euchee Valley Memorial Park.
The daughter of Wesley Marcum and Donna (Bryant) Marcum, Courtney was born on August 9, 1992 in Cushing. She was raised in Cushing, attending Cushing High School. Courtney loved styling hair, cooking, playing the piano, and singing. She had danced since the age of three and had been a cheerleader for the past six years.
She is survived by her mother, Donna Marcum and her special friend Don Steer of Cushing; four brothers, Will Marcum of Cushing, Nicholas Marcum and his friend Sarah Kennedy of Stillwater, Matthew Marcum of Stillwater and Christopher Marcum of Cushing; special friend Layton Steer; grandparents Sharon Marcum of Cushing, Levonne Bryant Kelly and her husband Frank of Cushing, and Gene Bryant of Cushing; two aunts, Terry Tuttle and Cheryl Kelly and her husband Blaine all of Cushing; two uncles, Michael Bryant and Scott Marcum and his wife Liz all of Cushing; one nephew, Kade Marcum; nine cousins, Kevin Bryant, Geneva Anderson and her husband Blake, Zachary Neil, Dustin Kelly, Jake Kelly, Shayne Kelly, Bryan Marcum, Beth Marcum, and Joey Marcum; and two second cousins, Nadia Anderson and Gabriel Anderson; and other relatives and close friends.
Courtney was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Marcum, and her grandfather, Howard Marcum.
