(Stillwater)- Payne County Court Clerk Lisa Lambert is warning area residents of a scam attempt involving jury duty. Lambert says she has received calls from area residents who have been contacted by phone or e-mail and who have been asked for personal information to verify they have NOT been called for jury duty.
Lambert says people who are called for jury duty are notified by mail at their residence, and that they will not be contacted by phone.
Lambert says potential victims are asked for social security numbers and birth date information.
Lambert warned against giving out any personal information over the phone.
