(Stillwater, Okla.) — A convicted rapist has been ordered to appear in court with an attorney Friday on charges of acting with two unknown men to rob two women and a boy at gunpoint — in the front yard of their home in the 1300 block of S. Lewis in Stillwater on Sunday.
Courtland O’Neill Davis, 32, of Stillwater, who remains jailed on $100,000 bail, also has been charged with attempting to rob another woman and a girl at gunpoint, both of whom denied having any money, at the same location on Sunday.
The victims told police that about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, three masked men with handguns came onto their property and robbed them of an undisclosed amount of money and property, a Stillwater police news release said.
Davis was arrested at his residence in the 4100 block of W. 19th Street in Stillwater, but the other suspects have not been identified, the news release said.
Anyone with information about the identity of the robbers may contact Stillwater police at 405-372-4171 or the anonymous tipline at 405-742-8327.
A month before the armed robberies, Davis had been arrested and released on $10,000 bail on a felony charge of violating the Sex Offender Registration Act by providing false and misleading information to authorities regarding his address.
Payne County Sex Offender Registration Supervisor Tina Pierce said that Davis registered as homeless on Feb. 14, then called back numerous times with addresses, before calling back as homeless on April 30, Sheriff’s Investigator Larry Kitchel wrote in an affidavit.
Davis then registered an address in Glencoe, but the owner said he was not planning on renting any property to Davis, the affidavit alleged.
Davis used an address in the 600 block of S. Knoblock in Stillwater on a May 13 marriage license, but Stillwater police said he had not registered with them since about April 30 when he said he was moving to the Glencoe area, the affidavit alleged.
On May 27, Davis came to the Sheriff’s Office to register his address as a Stillwater motel, but personnel there said that neither he nor his wife had checked into any of the rooms, the affidavit alleged.
Ten months ago, Davis, who was already a three-time convicted felon, was given a one-year jail term followed by four years of probation for raping a 15-year-old girl at her Stillwater residence where he had been staying.
Davis had accepted a plea bargain under which he was required to register as a sex offender on his release from jail where he had already been held for five months, court records show.
The girl said that on April 9, 2013, she was sexually assaulted by Davis at about 5 a.m. that day, Stillwater Police Detective Sgt. Jeff Watts wrote in an affidavit.
The girl said she was asleep in her bed and awoke to find Davis touching her, the affidavit alleged. She said she told Davis to leave her bedroom, the affidavit said.
She said that Davis forcibly raped her, pushed her face into a pillow and told her to be quiet when she told him to stop and leave her room, the affidavit said.
She said that Davis was her mother’s boyfriend and had been living with them for about one month, the affidavit said.
Davis was arrested at the girl’s residence at 12:42 p.m. that same day on an outstanding Bryan County felony arrest warrant, the affidavit said.
Two hours later, Davis was interviewed at the Stillwater Police Department where he initially denied sexual contact with the girl, but later admitted he had performed sex acts on her, the affidavit said.
Davis indicated that he knew the girl was 15, the affidavit said.
According to court records, Davis was convicted of aggravated robbery in Fort Worth in 2002, and embezzlement by contractor as well as bail jumping in Bryan County in 2000.
