(Stillwater, Okla.) — A convicted felon from Edmond has been charged in Payne County with illegally possessing a 9 mm handgun with ammunition, marijuana with intent to distribute, and proceeds from drug activity on Interstate 35 in a case investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Joe Isaac Gullatt, 30, was released from the Payne County Jail on $10,000 bail following his April 9 arrest, with an order to appear in court on May 27 for arraignment on the three-count felony charge.

Gullatt had previously been convicted in Oklahoma County of possessing a taken credit card, being a felon in possession of a firearm, concealing stolen property, and two counts of second-degree burglary, all occurring in 2017.

In 2018, Gullatt was given five concurrent two-year prison terms followed by concurrent probationary sentences of eight years for the firearm, three years for the stolen property, and five years for the burglaries, court records show.

Gullatt was also ordered to pay $1,222 restitution in his Oklahoma County case, court records show.
