(Cushing, Okla) — City Manager Terry Brannon announced Friday the City of Cushing plans to reopen most of its facilities on Monday, June 1, 2020 – with the exception of the Senior Citizen Center and the Cushing Public Library. “We have yet to receive sneeze screens for our customer service counters and public computers at the library,” Brannon stated in a memo to City staff. “They are slated to arrive next week. If that happens, we will reexamine reopening this facility ahead of June 15. The senior center will not reopen until July 1 because the data leads us to believe it is not time.”
Cushing Youth and Community Center and the Aquatic Center will open June 1, but will have occupancy restrictions to promote social distancing, as will the Library once it reopens. Brannon said the hours will also be adjusted at these facilities for a brief period to get everyone acclimated to reopening and to create margin for opportunities to clean.
Brannon urged everyone to, “Please be patient as this process becomes seamless.”
