(Cushing) – Voters go to the polls today to decide a primary election for a Cushing City Commission seat.   Incumbent Tommy Johnson faces a challenge from Ray Singley and James Ree.   If any of the candidates receives more than fifty per cent of the vote,  that candidate will be elected with no general election required.  Polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Another election will be held next month for seat four on the Cushing City Commission.   Incumbent John Henckel is being challenged by Carey Seigle for a spot on the Cushing City Commission.

In other area balloting today,  a primary is underway in Yale for a seat on the Yale City Commission.   Three candidates are seeking office number one,  Maurice Lozier, Martha Petitt,  and Michael P. McCullough. 

Voters in Ripley will decide a $2.5 million school bond issue that if approved,  would pay for a new performing arts center, two safe rooms and athletic facilities.  A 60 per cent super majority is required for passage of school bond issues in Oklahoma.

Voters in Stillwater are deciding two primaries for City Commission Seats.  Four candidates are vying for Councilor No. 1, for a term of three (3) years.   The candidates are:

Joe Weaver

David Lingelbach

Dennis Gronquist

Three Candidates are seeking Councilor No. 2, for a term of three (3) years.  The candidates are:

Hank Moore

John W. Bartley

Gary L. Stanton
