Christopher Miles Gardner, Cushing High School graduate with the class of 1995, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at the age of 37 years.

 

The son of Marvin Gardner and Sallae Worthy Posey, Chris was born on July 21, 1977, in Stroud, Oklahoma. He came to Cushing as a youth graduating from Cushing High School. He later attended Central Vo tech and was attending Meridian Tech, at the time he became ill.

Chris was married, and to this union came one son, Jonathan.

Chris was very proficient with computers and their technology. He also enjoyed trains of all kinds, and was very knowledgeable about cars and motor cycles.

Survivors include his 13 year old son Jonathan Christopher Gardner; his mother, Sallae Posey and her husband Guy of Glencoe; his father Marvin Gardner of Cushing; his grandmother Wanda Porton of Stroud; his brothers and sisters including Erin Jackson and her husband Shaun, Shadra Posey and Travis Posey all of Stillwater; two nephews, Shayne Jackson and Dakota Posey; numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cushing Church of Christ, 9th & Linwood, with Ken Murrell, minister, officiating.

The family will greet friends on Thursday evening, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
