(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 23-year-old Cushing man, who was originally accused of requiring a young female relative to touch his genital area, pleaded guilty to outraging public decency after the felony charge of lewd molestation was dismissed and refiled on Oct. 1 as a misdemeanor, court records show.
Payden Sneed was placed on five years’ probation under a deferred sentence on Oct. 1 by Associate District Judge Michael Kulling, who ordered him to provide a DNA sample, undergo random drug tests and complete an anger management course. He was also ordered to pay $650 in assessments plus court costs.
The alleged incident was reported to the Cushing Police Department in 2022 by a representative of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, court records show.
During an interview at the Saville Center in Stillwater, the girl said that Sneed “returned with some money and gave it to her and told her, ‘take this and be quiet. I can’t have anyone hearing about this because I will go to prison,"” Cushing Police Detective Jerrod Livergood alleged in an affidavit.
“Payden said that he smoked a lot of wax ‘Dabs’ which is a form of marijuana,” when he was interviewed at the Cushing police station, the affidavit alleged.
“Payden said the drugs started wearing off and he knew he messed up,” so he told her that he was sorry, the affidavit alleged.
Asked if he had threatened the girl, Sneed said he did not and never would threaten her, the affidavit alleged.
