(Chandler) – The Chandler Lions continued their assault on Class 2A opponents with an exclamation point on Friday, scoring 36 points in the first quarter en route to a 50-26 win over Heavener.

The Lions struck early and often, opening the game with a reverse pass play that resulted in a touchdown on the first offensive play.

After Heavener fumbled on their second offensive play, the Lions made it two for two, scoring on an 8 yard touchdown run that made it 14-0 with barely two minutes gone in the game.

By halftime, it was 50-0, and the Lions had already begun to play reserves.

The second half was unusual in that Chandler scored no points….and the officiating crew did not stop the clock except on two penalties. It was the first time all season Chandler recorded no points in the second half.

The Lions will host the winner of the Westville-Sperry game next Friday.
