Carrie Luella (Lou) Baird Howard passed away on August 11, 2009 in Perkins, OK at the age of 95.
The daughter of Garland M. and Carrie B. Baird, Lou was born on July 27, 1914 in Maysville, Arkansas and was reared and educated in the Maysville, AR and Southwest City, MO area. She was united in marriage to Norman Ross Howard on April 11, 1941 in Guthrie, OK and to this union two children, Garland Ross and Lynda Lou were born. Norman R. “Ross” preceded her in death on November 22, 2006. Lou was retired from the Oklahoma Tax Commission. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cushing.
Survivors include her children, Garland and Lynda of the home; her niece Carol Bowles and husband Paul of Jay, OK; nephew David Holcombe and wife Gayla of Jay, OK; and her special cousins Wilma Smith and Sheila Smith of Sperry, OK.
The Howard family would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to our special SolAmor Hospice aide, Krissy, and nurse, Tonya, along with other nurses and aides who helped care for our mom. She loved all of you.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 Friday, August 14, 2009 in the Big Creek Church of the Brethren Churchyard Cemetery, Cushing, OK, with Pastor Ralph Hickman officiating.
Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
